Welcome to the February Edition of Sierra Toy Soldier News, written on a very pleasant day here in the Bay Area. The rain and winter storms have vanished for now. As is typical in California, as soon as the rain stops, we start worrying about the dreaded drought. Even though all the reservoirs are nice and full.
It is that time again when we are preparing for the West Coaster show being held on Sunday March 9th in Buena Park, California. A new venue means a new and existing adventure. This year we will be represented by Alex and Cody, our 2 desperados. As always If there are any items you would like to see, just let us know and we will happily load them into the truck. This year we will be doing room trading on Saturday with the main show being on Sunday, do not miss what will be a terrific event. Hope to see you there.
We have some great announcements from Britains, King Á Country, John Jenkins, Thomas Gunn, First Legion and War Park.

Occasionally we get a rare opportunity to acquire individual items and complete collections for collectors that are thinning out their collection or from other dealers. These pieces are items that we do not normally stock. All are in mint condition or and in their original boxes, unless specified in the description. Please note these may have been on display.
So these are ideal pages to view if you are looking for that missing piece in your collection or just looking to find some very unique pieces that are not normally available.
This month we have
added a very large collection of Aeroart, St Petersburg figures and also a very large collection of Plastic figures and Play
Sets. We have also added Frontline French and Indian War sets in perfect condition.

WWII Germans
The first variant of the Grille was based on the Panzer 38(t) Ausf. H chassis, which had its engine in the rear. Instead of a turret, the vehicle had a low-slung superstructure and fighting compartment. The 15 cm (5.9 in) Sig 33 (heavy infantry gun) was mounted in the front of this armored compartment. Being built on a tank chassis, its hull armour was 50 mm (2.0 in) at the front and its superstructure armour was 25 mm (0.98 in) at the front.
A total of 200 (including one prototype) were produced at the BMM factory in Prague from February to June 1943, and 10 more units were built in November 1943. The official designation was 15 cm Schweres Infanteriegeschütz 33 (Sf) auf Panzerkampfwagen 38(t) Ausf. H (Sd.Kfz. 138/1). The Grille served on the majority of fronts during WW2 including Italy, Russia and Normandy.

Roman Auxiliary Legionary
Cohors II Flavia Bessorum was an auxiliary unit of the Roman Empire, likely formed during the early imperial period. Its soldiers were primarily recruited from the Bessorum tribe, located in what is now modern-day Romania. The cohort played a crucial role in the Roman military system, providing essential support in various campaigns across the empire, particularly in the provinces. Active during the 1st and 2nd centuries AD, it is known to have been stationed in regions like Britain and Germania, participating in key military operations and contributing to the Romanization of these areas. The cohort’s legacy reflects the broader integration of local populations into the Roman military framework, showcasing the diverse composition of Rome's armed forces.
